Checkers

Jane Withers drifting with Stuart Erwin and a horse, hustling for money. And when the horse breaks his leg, she returns with Erwin to his sweetheart Una Merkel to do some hustling there. One of many Withers films that are too hard to find, which is a shame for she's a good counter-part to the overly sweetness of Shirley Temple pictures. More lively, which can be seen in Checkers (1937). Good fun.
