Cheech & Chong's Next Movie

That moment where the increasing annoyance at Cheech and Chong's socially irresponsible behaviour turns into the distasteful realisation that you're maybe just a really boring person.

Unlike Up In Smoke, Next Movie doesn't even pretend to have a plot; the endless detours and incidental moments define the experience as C+C move from one episodic moment to the next, seemingly without rhyme or reason. It a shambolic mess that is strictly for fans only, but it is easy to admire Chong's refusal to conform, and his freewheeling direction has a sense of spontaneity that's appealing in spite (because?) of its crudity. It's a fun film that radiates a hazy doe-eyed charm.

The perfectly titled "Cheech and Chong's Next Movie"(1980) was a great follow-up for fans of the stoner icons film debut, and with the loose flowing nature of their movies all the different jokes and scenarios blur together in haze of hilarity.

Plotless and not much fun. The music was much better though; "I'm just a love macheen, and I don' work for nobody butchoo".

Not that solid, but brilliant in parts.

great cheech and chong movie. unlike the others this one had me laughing uncontrolably, some great skits here and great comedy highly recommended

While this may not be the best from the duo it is still pretty good. There are some good laughs from the craziness going on. The 'plot' jumps around all over the place, but does it really matter.

Poor.

This is the first time I have seen this film but to me it seems like it has not aged well. The two leads are good in their roles but the script is not good. There are a couple of laughs but one would expect a lot more from a comedy. Overall this film is disappointing.

There were a couple of sequences that were side-splittingly hilarious. Unfortunately, the rest of the film doesn't fare so well. Still an enjoyable comedy.

lacks the wit and metaphors that made the first one good.
