Odd Soviet-made fantasy. Badly dubbed and hard to follow, this is still a lot more entertaining than the megabuck dud _Waterworld_.

An interesting film that is heavy on style and has some interesting narrative parallels (mostly visual -> narrative parallels). Too bad that besides for these parallels the story lacks enough depth (pardon the pun) to keep interest up

Not as bad as you would expect a movie called Amphibian Man to be, but not that much better.

I love the pale colors of the '60s Soviet stuff. This movie's actually pretty charming when it's following the lovers, and the opening scene is hilarious, but there's just a bit too much dumb political bullshit behind every scene.

A combination of mermaid and Romeo and Juliet stories. Only here submarine genders were vice versed. Classic Russian fairytale.

Good idea wasted with a love story. God love is boring, it's always same...
