Children of the Corn III: Urban Harvest

A priest who has devoted his entire life to serving God whips a bible at a demon kid's head in an attempt to hit him with every psalm at once.

Yes, it's pretty bad but I sometimes found it painless bc the idea of a religiously motivated killer remains appealingly unusual (even though he's too much of a demon here) & its interspersed w/ either so-bad-its-funny or interestingly bad moments (the preaching standoff; licking the mom). It plays like it was cut & re-edited missing parts. Why is there a convenient hole in the fence AND the giant wall? Why does Eli pick on the mom so quick? Why does the (awful efx) monster show up at the end?

Some fun kills and quality laughs.

Surprisingly fun - easily the best of this crappy franchise. Props to gore genius Screaming Mad George, who deserves most of the credit for making this as watchable as it is.

Under FX ace Screaming Mad George's supervision, this easily emerges as the goriest and most crowd-pleasing of the King "Corn" lot.

Bad acting and boring. Just could not get into this horrible movie.

Taking the story away from the small rural town of Gatling was a smart move, as the third installment of the Corn series plays out like the thriller that the first one was meant to be. Daniel Cerny is excellent as the evil brother Eli Porter, being hands down the best in the long line-up of evil child cult leaders. Unfortunately, this all comes unstuck because of the film's tiny budget and straight to video standards (especially during the film's climax).
