Superb and very emotional reflection on memory, both human and celluloid, and on forgetting, trauma and politics. Guzmán really is a great filmmaker.

A reflective companion piece to 'Battle of Chile'. As Guzmán makes clear, this is a film about memory, dreaming and disappearing. The power of film as tertiary retention. The most compelling scenes are those of the younger generation watching Guzmán's film and confronting a history they never knew but with the hope of a different future.
