A good story, very racially progressive, good music, Nat King Cole has some great scenes.

So I think I like Sam Fuller now? I could get into all of the political ramifications here but that would make it sound really sloppy and hamfisted, which it actually is, but that's part of its charm. The anti-communism is silly and it comes close to letting Gene Barry off the hook but somehow there's a smart meditation on multiculturalism and colorism. I mean, it's not Beau Travail, but it's kind of its trashier cousin.
