China Seas

"China Seas" is a pirate action adventure that they converted into a modern storyline for1935. It is still fun to watch the film today with its old-style hero and his love triangle.

Not groundbreaking, but very entertaining adventure film of the high seas with Gable, Harlow, and Beery all in good form. I didn't really totally buy the ending.

Wouldn't say the scrip was very original, but a great cast made it fun to watch. Especially the various verbal confrontations between the trio of the main stars Jean Harlow, Clark Gable and Wallace Beery. Harlow was the star of the show stealing every scene she was in with her spunky ways. And watch for a soaking wet Harlow! So while the film came across like it was lacking any deeper greatness, the superficial MGM greatness delivered!
