Too kid friendly and no realism ruined it for me, I mean it was like watching journey 3 with Jackie Chan replacing Brendan Fraser and Dwayne Johnson in the lead role.

Chinese Zodiac is a terrible movie in a lot of ways; the writing, the directing, the editing, but through the mountain of ineptness, it's still ridiculous fun. From the French chateaux to the tropical jungles, the whole thing feels like a live-action adaptation of Uncharted by someone who has only played the game for an afternoon. Also, I'll be damned if I didn't hear the Pirates theme incorporated into the score. Nevertheless, I enjoyed Jackie Chan performing, even if he has gotten a bit old.

Typical over-the-top Jackie Chan romp, only this time stealing antiquities and finding a ship wreck with gold and treasures. Too bad they added so many idiots. This movie alternates between good action and really dumb boring scenes with awful dialog. The plot is inane. There are a few nice action scenes, a clever roller skating escape in the beginning, but also really stupid stuff like all of them riding a log downhill, skydiving without a parachute and idiotic gun fights.

You know that time that any movie with Steven Seagal was great until he started to go environmental. Well, the same problem is happening with Jacky. He tried to incorporate so many (political) issues into this film, it becomes one hotchpotch of trying to be politically correct and not offend the Chinese market and also keep the Western viewers happy. It is one big mess. And you know Chan is getting old when even his famous behind the scenes during the end credits becomes embarrassing to watch.

Despite being laughable on every technical aspect, this movie was thouroughly enjoyable and would definitely reccomend it highly. From the casual racism toward the French to pirate who was basically garbed in Captain Jack Sparrow fancy dress, this is the epitome of a movie that is so bad it is good.

There's a little fun to be had with "Chinese Zodiac", but it ultimately feels like a styrofoam version of Indiana Jones with the looks a "Spy Kids" movie. Trite, substance-less, but with good intentions.

Though Chan is getting old, this is one of his best in years. Also a nice conclusion to the series of movies that started with Armor Of God.

Good ol' Jackie decided not only to star in this film but also write it, direct, produce, choreograph, cater and shit tons of other things. I imagine it must have cost a fortune but the result is a grandiose mess. Incoherent plot, terrible dialogues, forced humor, bad acting, political messages, awful dubbing for some characters (they switch between 3 languages here)... The sequence in the jungle felt almost like a parody. There's a few neat fighting scenes, though. Bless Jackie for trying.

A little fun with Jackie Chan. Only the action was entertaining. The humor, story and supporting cast was disappointing. Still it's Jackie Chan, so one gets through it without feeling any pain (except his).
