Pulpy, soapy, and noirish, but if you're big on Julianne Moore (I am), then don't miss this... As always, she transcends any material she's inhabiting and brings depth and soul to her work. Here, she creates yet another brilliant character study, thru the developement of inner life... (A strange role for Liam Neeson, though, considering recent events in his life...)

I saw this movie in the theater (!) with my wife (!!) who, unlike myself, knew what it was about(!!!). Therefore, it will always hold a place in my heart as the movie that almost caused me permanent facial damage from excessive jaw dropping.

Unless you're into A.Seyfried or J.Moore I suggest you to see random lesbian porn movie. I hoped L.Neeson would save the day but that hadn't happened. Plot and especially characher build are way below avarage. Acting and and decent camera work make this film watchable yet not enjoyable.

Many of the armchair critics on this site - and don't get all uppity, I'm one of them too - who I actually have respect for in their movie tastes, are way off on "Chloe". It's slow-built, character-driven (as opposed to plot-driven, which people I guess don't seem to like), it's unapologetic and ballsy, perilously erotic, it has killer performances from the main trio, I can't say enough about Amanda and the character she brings to life... this movie is one of the best of this or any other year.

Despite strong performances from Moore, Seyfried and Neeson, Chloe fell flat for me simply through the implausibility and idiocy of the titular character's actions. Breaking every rule she sets out in her opening monologue, Chloe's is a tale of inexplicable obsession. The writing makes her lies obvious from the start, but the way the plot plays out it doesn't seem intentional. The film is grounded by the relationship between Moore and Neeson though.

The script of the movie is very weak. The director tries weave the element of a thriller into the movie but fails at it. The movie is predictable mostly with an unexplainable ending. The movie could have been made much better had the script been stronger though the premise of the movie is interesting. The performance by the lead actors is good.

Chloe is a fascinating film, although it isn't a fantastic one. The ending felt off and Liam Neeson needed a larger role. But on the whole, it's a solid experience that will possibly confuse you for some time, all the while revealing itself to be an engaging thriller that leaves you thinking about it long after it ends. It hides its characters well, but still allows you to care about what happens to them . It's worth a watch, even if some viewers might be turned off by the sexual content.

For the first two-thirds, Egoyan's film has the makings of a masterpiece, weaving a fascinating, original and intriguing story involving seduction and desire, and utilising two superb performances from Moore and (especially) Seyfried (Neeson while reliably good, has something of a thankless role). Unfortunately the climax is somewhat conventional and arbitrary (though it's a puzzle as to how the intrigue established in the earlier scenes could be resolved satisfactorily).

WHOA! Goodby to Seyfried's Miss Goody Two-Shoes image. She'll never be able to go back there again even if she wanted to, if very many people see this--which doesn't look like is gonna happen. Interesting premise, but it felt like they just kept piling stuff on instead of facing what they'd created. Moore's character seemed to be cautious enough, but then left one big gaping hole a whale could swim through. Ending only OK, except for the very last shot. Excellent performances.

There's several solid acting, I liked. I also liked, though predictable, story which led wrong most female viewers. Unfortunately the conclusion of the story was so anti-climatic that it dropped the most of good score. Acting in the end was also pretty let down, kind of run through to close the case. Follows the storyline of French Nathalie...

I'm given props to a few things. The trio of actors (I think Moore gives the best performance, really.. but she's pretty underrated in general), and the music. There are some really inspired scenes, and the movie never bored me. I felt that some scenes were a little silly and I didn't really like the ending. But it does do a good job mostly at examining these characters. I flip flopped on 65 (pretty high end good) or 70 (very good). Some moments of weakness but all in all, good stuff.

A smart but ultimately hollow study of anger and guilt in a middle-aged married couple. The plot is engaging enough but the downfall is its unsympathetic, greedy characters. The acting is decent enough, the Toronto setting is used well, and buildup of tension is nicely paced. But with a silly ending it falls short of greatness. Much better than Deception but not as good as Unfaithful.

Moore threw herself in, Neeson didn't do too much, just sort of used his super mastered voice a bit. The son brought nothing to the table "I can't wait to get the fuck out of here" & Seyfried channelled Sasha Grey's GF Exp. role, managing to seem equally unconvinced prostitutes have a concious. The ending is empty, virgin screenplay material. Leaving the film to seem like it was made because it promised at some point Seyfried was going to rub her breasts on Moore.

Pretty bad. Almost everything about this is a misfire, starting with the writing. Whoever is guilty of this started with practically the most lurid imaginable premise, and proceeded to treat it in an understated--almost tasteful--manner. Then, Egoyan apparently mistook this shit for art, and treated it is such. The actors did their game best with what they were given to work with, but no one could have saved this. I would have had more respect for it if it were a full-on exploitation flick.

'Chloe' could be a good thriller, but never gets into a good rhythm to allow it. The confrontation with David never really comes to fruition. Catherine's relationship with Michael feels unnatural. The score is overbearing and when the dialogue doesn't make it feel like a cheap porno, it feels like a bad tourism ad for the city of Toronto. The plot twist makes it come together, but the pacing still feels odd, never really letting the tension build at the right moments. The ending adds to that.

I am surprised this film rated quite low on Criticker. I am not a great Julianne Moore fan, but she was absolutely perfect as a wife haunted by the possibility of her husband straying, and as a character study in loss of trust and obsession with the truth, this was a great little film. A tense, slow burning, gripping, story which inevitably ended in a mess. That's not a huge criticism; although a little weak, this sort of thing ALWAYS ends in a mess. Enjoyable, great acting from female leads

The only thing I can say impressed me about this was Moore's performance, which made her character the only one I had any interest in. And what an atrocious ending; talk about a flagrant case of "hmm, what do we do now?" screen writing.

I find IMDB summaries to (nearly) always be misleading and in this case it is especially apparent: "A doctor hires an escort to seduce her husband, whom she suspects of cheating, though unforeseen events put the family in danger" is not what is taking place in this film. Chloe, I think, is cinematic vision of a single idea- the difference between reality and unreality is not fact, but belief.

Moore and Neeson give the performances you would expect from such talents, and Seyfried certainly has a captivatingly beautiful big pair of.. eyes, but you wonder why any of them have signed up to appear in such dated rubbish. Terribly written and all too predictable, you wouldn't be at all surprised if you found out this was a script that had been passed on numerous times during the femme fatale peak of the mid-'80s. Seyfried's boobs are easily the most memorable thing in the entire picture.

Chloe is an interesting movie, that is the one thing I must say. I actually liked it way more than I ever thought I would. The characters were engaging more so Chloe because of her mysterious persona and her unusual sexiness. Chloe develops at a good pace, the main trio giving off good enough performances to save this film. Really consider seeing this movie, you may like it you may not. Amanda Seyfried does show case some talent, and shows that she can act.
