Christie Malry's Own Double-Entry

A portrait of a sociopath, viewed through the lenses of Britpop, the Italian renaissance, and a Tarantino-wannabe director. CMODE is certainly an unusual cocktail, but that doesn't make it any good. It's a mashup of genres and styles but Paul Tickell isn't particularly adept at any of them. Another flop from one of the British film industry's most creatively stagnant periods.

good soundtrack, great book, shit film

It is a failure, suffering from its very low budget and not being able to make all of its parts make sense together, but it is an interesting one which has no issues with exploring a man's search for meaning in a direction that makes him a villain. I could have lived without certain moments and pieces of dialogue which were childish and insipid though.
