If you want to make a mysterious movie you shouldn't spill the beans at 10th minute. Its visual style is appealing, so is the allusions to the McGraw experiments. But the storytelling is annoyingly fragmented and much of the posing in the movie and confrontations are awkward. Add to this a very bad choice of how to reveal the story, it was a rather disappointing experience. I wouldn't recommend against it though, it still has something to tell visually (especially the telesurgery scene).

A different kind of sf thriller from France. I did like the complete different stunts than in American movies, but the story is unfortunately boring, anemic and not catchy at all. All colors were clinically blue and grey.

Despite its hackneyed cop-vs-gangster plot and insistence on using an over-stylised comic book cinematography, I felt this low budget sci-fi film did have some substance. The subplot about transplanting memories was a strong idea, worthy of more screen time; while the female cop character succeeded in making the gritty male storyline more human and accessible. This film is not in the same league as the top sci-fi films, but with better dialogue and fewer fistfights, it could almost have been.

Pathetic in grey under la tour Eiffel. For impressive visuals see Beyond the Black Rainbow.

Definitely a style over substance movie, but the visual style and the fight choreography are enough to carry to movie, even though the plot is bit weak at points. Characters are quite stereotypical, but then again when has film noir characters been complex.
