A nice attempt at bringing a Bruce Lee script to life, but Jeff Cooper is just so terrible and clunky that he drags the film down to the level of camp.

It's really called The Silent Flute, it would appear. The dialogue is so bad it's good. The fight scenes are so bad they're bad. Cooper is a bizarre casting choice - he looks like a journeyman metal singer. I wish he'd put a top on - I was fed up seeing his nipples. At least Eli Wallach provides some respite from the nonsense in a frankly bizarre scene. This is definitely less than the sum of its parts, but strangely diverting in its own hokey way.

Cheese puffs with Zen teachings inside of them. As I see it, this film should have never been made. This is clearly not what Bruce Lee had in mind when he wrote this film. Everything from acting (Jeff Cooper couldn't help but look like a guy lifted from mid-70's NY street) to martial arts choreography is done very heavy handedly, and the philosophical vision of the film is completely blurred.

Great to listen to, tough to watch. Cooper is dreadful, the scene with Eli Wallach is outstanding. Like chemical404 said, the action choreography is horrid.

Up there with She for being full of quintessential b movie shenanigans. But too full of over the top philosophy to be nearly as fun as She. Jeff cooper is a buffoon.

Imagine a Venn diagram and in one circle is Jodorowsky shooting El Topo and in the other is a Golan-Globus sword n sorcery, and the area of intersection is this movie. That's gonna be an awful lot for some, but I quite like it. Would have been very interesting with more of (Bruce) Lee's involvement (especially wrt fights), but I also like it as is. Carradine is awesome. This would be great paired with Born of Fire.

When you look at the cast and the writing credits, you very badly want to like this... but it's really kind of silly and dull

This is one of those movies where you're waiting and you're waiting and begin to suspect they won't do it but then BAM! guy in a monkey suit and the movie's right back to being what you need. I knew guys that would refer to bunny in the pot crazy as a way to note possible psychopathic women in reference to Fatal Attraction. What am I going to do with Eli Wallach in a barrel?

A Kung Fu fantasy shot in Israel, better produced than the usual chop-'em-sock-'em flicks.

On the surface, this movie would appear goofy, and not to be taken seriously. I found this to be an enjoyable film based on a story originally written by Bruce Lee. Though, this movie wouldn't been better starring Bruce.
