There are some interesting ideas and it is shot well enough, however the story itself is not enough to engage the viewer over the running time.

Worth watching overall, but it’s pretty disjointed and contrived. The plot is not well-paced, and just kind of meanders from one event to the next. I appreciate the love under repression theme (and it’s super relevant), but the brother is a bit of a cartoon character. There are subtler ways to represent an evil regime

i could write a 3000 word essay on all the reasons why this is the worst film i've ever seen, but all i'll say is that apart from being highly offensive to iranians, women, muslims, homosexuals and humanity, this is deplorable as a film. there is no story, no characters, no authenticity or artistic integrity. it's over-sensationalized, hyper-sexualized, male-centric drivel that's trying to tap into "hot" issues of the day without the slightest understanding of the substance behind those issues.

This movie had tons of potential and had some great moments, but ultimately wasn't that good. Such serious issues interrupted by slow motion love scenes that throw the pace of the movie out of whack.

The movie takes very bold look at some of the issues involving the modern youth in Iran. The movie could have been definitely better than what it truly is. The movie starts of slowly and tries to make up for things hurriedly during the second half. It doesnt develop the important character of Mehran. There are a few loose ends else an interesting movie.

Had this been an american movie it wouldn't have passed 20 on my score-meter, but i would be nominated for best supporting actor, been seen as daring and controversial - and everytime this film isn't daring or controversial, is when it is best. Without politics, this a very exciting film about love in a very interesting and suppressed country. See Nader and Simin, though...

I don't deny the problems but not happy with the film, very very negative compare to the real picture of iranians
