A clear low budget picture from Republic, but Circus Girl (1937) is surprisingly watchable! They keep the pace up. The suspense of the trapeze stunts are kept economical and effective. They even managed to get a very pretty dame in June Travis as the female lead. And opposite her the experienced Donald Cook and their own protégé Robert Livingston as rivals/partners of the circus. A combination which makes this cheap movie fly by.
