Always watchable, often beautiful--certainly not a movie in the conventional sense of the word, but an engaging experience if you're a fan of what it has to offer.

Cirque du Soleil in movie form? Yes please.

The Cirque du Soleil recipe takes masters of sight acts, places them centre stage, and adds very high levels of design, engineering, production, imagination and beauty. Narrative is irrelevant. The addition of cameras and editing has pros and cons when compared with live performance. Aficionados of human physical prowess at its finest will be hard pressed to find fault with the showcase they are given here, drawn from the many Cirque du Soleil shows currently running.
