|
From the music to the absurdity in which the plot unfolds, City of Angels cements itself as a 90's movie. Cage and Ryan deliver good enough performances, while Braugher is underused (though I'm basing this off his role as Captain Holt on BB99). The film itself is alright, with a decent premise that doesn't quite manage to deliver on its theme of free will nor Cage's life as a human though its portrayal of angels was interesting. Its final moral on life is incredibly heavy-handed.

Mostly boring, overly sentimental and unintentionally comical. It attempts to convey deep emotions and true romance, but falls way short. Nic Cage is completely wasted, but Dennis Franz and Andre Braugher at least temporarily liven things up a little.
