Pretty awful and pointlessly in 3D. I enjoy Greek mythology, but this for the most part just sucks. This story really deserved to be an old style "epic" of a movie, but instead the story is crammed into an hour and forty-five, the characters are poorly developed with meaningless relationships and the script is retarded. A few nice effects and monster designs don't make a movie and Worthington has the personality of a plank of wood.

Ever wonder what the original movie would look like if it were made by angsty teenage edgelords? Here ya go. Also justly infamous for having the first (and worst) 3D makeover after Avatar made all the money in the world.

A big budget popcorn action flick littered with a couple of decent performances and a uncompromising plotline. I would've expected so much more with such a promising cast (Worthington, Fiennes, Neeson, Huston) attached. Parts of it looked so idiotic and stupid people in my theater just couldn't stop laughing. It seemed like one big elaborate joke. And it's on us.

The only thing in this mediocre adventure that works (apart from the CGI and creature design) is the Kraken-releasing-scene, which on the other hand works perfectly... unfortunately you have to endure an hour+ of incredibly poorly written nonsense, which would have been fine, if the director was able to make some gong-ho action, but Leterrier apparently thinks that actions means "people running fast" either towards or away from monsters... A total waste of potential on all levels.

Could've been a fun romp, but who the hell wrote this drivel? Atrocious pacing, awful dialog and characters that are exclusively tools. Who do you root for in this mess? You root for Alexa Davalos' Andromeda, the film's one solid (and sadly underused) performance. Whoever keeps casting the plank Gemma Arterton in films: Stop taking those hallucinogens. Seemingly hours of uninteresting wandering from A to B and then about 2 minutes of almost worthwhile climatic payoff. Avoid this one.

For a brainless blockbuster, this isn't too bad - it moves along at a brisk pace, lots of fighting, etc. Disappointing in comparison with the original, though, because it lacks its campy charm and takes everything so seriously. This makes it all the more laughable, since nothing about the movie makes any sense whatsoever. Not just the lack of fidelity to Greek myths (neither film has that), but a) war against gods is a ridiculous idea b) no character's motivation is consistent or logical.

Pretty bad. Just stupid at times especially with some amusing plot holes. The romantic side of the film was a joke. Only positives are a couple actors putting in decent performances (Neeson, Fiennes and Mikkelsen for example) and the Kraken does look very cool, for about 5 seconds anyway. A lot of cringing involved in what is a big dumb action flick that is pretty shallow and even the word action is being used loosely.

the last 5 minutes were basically OH GOD LETS TIE IT ALL TOGETHER RIGHT NOW Ralph Fiennes just spends the entire move popping up in a cloud of 'macabre' and looking into the camera and then speaking like something's stuck in his throat and he just doesn't give a shit that it's there, it'll make him sound spookier, but instead he just sounds retarded. I actually can't remember anything from the movie and I just saw it, OH Idont know why I gave this a 60, oh wait, that one chick be hot, yo

First of all, way to hype up the Kraken you Hollywood douchebags! I think they totally missed the point of this story. It's not about a giant sea monster. It's about a man accomplishing things that should be impossible with the help of the gods. I just looooove how Perseus had never held a sword in this movie and then after one training sesh he's able to take on just about anything. I don't give a fuck if the movie is in 3-D, the plot was laughable and it deviated way too much from the myth.

The scenes with the gods were lame; the story weak. For some reason I got a kick out of the Medusa scene and was all warmed up for the big climacs which was way too short. The monster, though, was pretty cool. Say it loudly: RELEASE the KRAKEN!

What a mess, in 3D ! They managed to make the shallow Plot from the original even more shallow. Nothing in this movie is "Titanic". Some creatures were interestingly designed, but the blurry action and a very premature 3D usage made watching them a painful experience. This is especially disappointing because the effects used in the original were the best in their time and they are still impressive.

Woooooooow this movie sucked ass. This was my first 3d experience too. So awful. The writing was terrible, the shaky camera work is aaaaaawful. I also disliked the fact that there were many beautiful people and the make-up was so obvious (sorry, it was too Hollywoodish). But one plus (I thought it was bad he played in it.. but still) was Nicholas Hoult. Foo he's so gorgeous. But still, this movie's a joke. I could go on and on about how much this movie sucked

Modern action movies continue to be ruined by hyper editing. You just can't tell what the fuck is going on. It's horrible. For the first 5 or so mins of this one scene I thought there was only one big ass scorpion but it turns out there were like 4 or something. I dunno. I couldn't tell with all of the half second close up editing & multi-camera craziness. You'd think that clearly conveying the action would be priority number one in the action genre. The sets looked good though. Better than 300

Despite the big names, high budget, and concept there is a glaring low budget feel. The main reason is the reliance on CGI effects and the actors struggling to act in front of a screen with probably inept direction involved. Worthington amusingly slips into his native Aussie accent in a few scenes. Neeson looked downright hammy as Zeus. The dialogue is also the usual half-assed Hollywood riff on mythology. This would have been OK as a cable tv movie but as a major release it's pretty weak.

Wait...the Kraken was a dude? Though everyone told me I should avoid it like a plague of locusts (which, by the way, is pretty difficult to avoid), I really couldn't bring myself to hating this movie. Sure, the writing wasn't Shakespeare...hell, it wasn't even Danielle Steel, and yeah the plot and pacing were all over the place, but Mads Mikkelsen was fighting a giant fucking scorpion. To quote Socrates, "nuff said."

One should ignore the critics for this one, I liked it as I am a fan of Greek Mythology. This movie is a top notch action movie and full house entertainer. The 3D was not the best but not as horrible as some say. Sam Worthington is the new best action star right now. It was good to watch Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes sharing screen space, reminiscent of Schindler's list.

Not bad as a brainless action flick. Some good effects (and some AWFUL ones), some corny acting and a bunch of cheesy one liners. Not much in the way of story or character development, though. Other than a brief throwaway reference to Bibo the Owl, and the whole "medusa vs kraken" bit at the end, this flick bears absolutely no resemblance to the original. Incidentally, Sam Worthington is not a good actor, he's Russell Crowe light (and I hate Russell Crowe). See it in 2D if at all.

I'm a huge fan of the original and this movie just about changed the entire story, different romance, different motivaton to kill the kraken, different calibos, and a different main villian. I enjoyed it but wouldn't really say it was well done. weak acting and a fairly jumbled up story has the original making a lot more sense.

Will be a fun movie to watch when I can joke about it with my friends as we watch it; as a theater movie it sucks though. The worst part about this movie sucking was that it seemed like such a good idea. The original Clash of the Titans is awesome, but with the technology we have now the remake could have been great. Instead they change way to much of it and spend the whole movie alluding to the Kraken who ends up being really lame anyway. Play the God of War trilogy instead.

A great feel good action flick that most people dismiss because it has no aspirations to be "great cinema", but if you're into some unadulterated action, and fairly by-the-book takes on mythology this is for you. It has a few nods here and there to the original, but really it's just an updated version catering to the riddlin addicts of today--and I'm fine with that.

It's a really generic and relatively boring action blockbuster. The story itself, even in the original, was never very captivating and going through it a second time makes it feel even blander. A heroes' journey is interesting when we actually care about the hero. Not here, Perseus barely does anything adventurous, has maybe 20 lines of dialogue and never becomes more than Blandy McBland. All the indoor sets look terrible, the CGI is pretty weak, and the movie is littered with dumb details. (A race against time.. and you go on foot?) A MAJOR step down in every area compared to the original, except those Djinns. They looked nifty at least. Oh, and disrespecting Bubo?!? YOU ASSHOLES!

The fact that this came out in desperate "fake 3D" says a lot about how aimless this mess is. You'd think that given the premise of the Greek gods, there'd be more than enough material to form some sort of story, but Leterrier wasn't interested. He just wanted to release the Kraken, and thus it makes a blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance towards the end. Between that and the well conceived intro sequence, there's no sense to be found, and even less fun to be had here.

I just don't understand how so many mistakes could be made when making a film with such a large budget. It's like the more money these people have, the more ways to blow it they dream up. Clash of the Titans wasn't an enjoyable film. There were a couple of entertaining action spots, but apart from them, there was nothing to like. The acting was bad, the subplots didn't work, the main plot didn't seem to have much reason to exist, the characters were bland, and there weren't any smiles or happiness to be found anywhere. I was bored more often than not, and I can't recommend this film to anyone, unless you like boring, depressing and dull action films.

Don't go into it expecting a thorough retelling of the Perseus myth, because it's not that kind of movie. Modern adaptation of cult classics and influential older movies are often negligible, but I was quite happy with what I saw here, and didn't feel cheated. I mean, yes, they rode on giant scorpions. And they used "black magic". And a Greek demi-God said "bitch". This is really just meant to be a fun movie and that's all. Fantastic design for the Krakken, even though he gets bitch-slapped.

I watched this in 3D. Whatever redeeming qualities this film may have had were completely obliterated by the 3D conversion job that reminded me of a pop-up picture book. Speaking of children's books... sometimes it seemed like they cut out the foreground elements with a pair of child's scissors as the background surrounding the main object was often popped out too. One scene that was shot looking up through branches had them at the wrong apparent depth. It was just fail all over the place.

Provides more than just the necessary updating in terms of efx. Characters r less 1-dimensional here than its predecessor (& the myths it drew from) & the script makes some interesting choices, particularly in the surprising aggression humans show their makers. It's also smart enough 2 change the original's entirely hollow love story & narrow its focus down to just 2 squabbling Olympians & their human foils. Despite all this, it rarely thrills, but it does entertain, & that's still pretty good.

Otherwise, its uneven and incomprehensible with special effects that range from horrible video game CGI to actually respectable Guillermo Del Toro-esque creatures. This had all the elements necessary to be a wondrous remake but someone dropped the ball really bad. If there is one word to describe this Clash it would be rushed: Everything comes into play incredibly fast, it's a movie designed for kiddies with zero attention span, there is no development whatsoever, characters seem to just stand there without an ounce of personality. I'm still wondering why I needed those 3D glasses with this movie. The extra cost for 3D was a total waste of my money. So much could have been done in stereoscopic 3D with this movie: the CG creatures, the CG hades transition effect...but no...nothing. So that leaves just the plot. The movie was exactly what you could expect from a Hollywood Blockbuster like this. It's not good, but I didn't expect it to be. But I enjoyed it a lot more than the other recent demigod movie: Percy Jackson.

For me this fell into the "So Bad it's Good" territory. The monsters were creative but the action scenes were hard to follow. Other than a few nods it had very little to do with the orginal, changing everyone's roles and motivations (was Hades even in the orginal?) On its own merits the film is fun, but not noteworthy. The plot (or what's left of it) is cramped into a short time frame. Given more care, this could have been the first great epic film of the decade, but it fell very, very short.

Any remake would have been hard put to be worse than the laughable original of 1981, and the latest CGI technology, with or without the augmentative 3-D (added as an afterthought in the laboratory), oughtn't to have had too impossible a job of improving upon the herky-jerky stop-motion monsters of Ray Harryhausen: the Pegasus, the Medusa, the Kraken, and the rest. But the jiggly camera and the muddy color establish themselves as fundamental no-no's for an appreciation of 3-D
