It's certainly entertaining, but mostly for the sheer audacity of the park. There's not too much of a story or a point to this, other than to say how the fuck did this place exist?

I mean I could watch Chris Gerhard talk about anything and be entertained. This is a solid documentary about an absolutely crazy place.

An excellent examination of how parenting adolescents was different in the '80s. It doesn't really have a conclusion, but that's OK, because I have no idea if latchkey kids turned out better or worse than today's generation will.

makes you want to go there but also makes you want to criminally prosecute the ceo

Decent enough doc about the lunacy of one man and one town for letting it go on as long as it did. Did bring back some sentimentalism for the 80s freedom to be a moron.

Verges on the annoying back in my day nonsense, but ultimately is entertaining enough and succeeds because its a place that just couldn't exist now (back in my day docs on things like punk music or Vhs get annoying because those things thrive in their own way still). Instead of rich scumbags building a theme park where you could lose your head now it's rich guys trying to build a car that is driverless and will light on fire if it goes on the highway. I miss old school conmen if anything

A look into the wild history of Action Park and its strange founder. Well worth the watch.

I was dying laughing at ending Gethard and Becker were waxing poetically about the glory of Action Park and what it means to the American childhood overtop of that one family visiting their child's grave. Less an annoying back in my day and more an annoying NJ/NY thing

I would have preferred more interviews with employees and the like as opposed to C-list celebrities that maybe went there a couple of times as young kids.

Really great doc. I've been excited about the topic ever since Johnny Knoxville's interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live! And this doc exceeded my expectations! So good!

Mildly interesting. Fairly well made.

If you are not amused by Chris Gethard this'll probably seem like a slog (you joyless butt) but there's an admirable effort to balance the riffy reminiscing with accounting of the damage wrought by Mulvihill's rampant criminality and exploration of its roots (and vibrant foliage). The pseudo-philosophizing on childhood's changes will likely rile those riled by WHEN *WE* WERE KIDS! meme morons, but hey, hanging at a conman's deathpark beats being a perpetual profit-generator for techno-capitalism

a great look into a real life Roller Coaster Tycoon park designed with absolutely no consideration of logic or safety, it was fun to see Gethard.
