Honestly, the Fountains of Wayne song is better.

Jacquelyn Bissett is HOT. I love to hate Rob Lowe and Andrew McCarthy, and this film is no exception. Jacquelyn Bissett is HOT, which is why this movie gets more than a 05.

One of the many adolescent 80s sex comedies I'd prefer to forget. Not even the once-legendary glass elevator scene is all that great. Most damningly of all, I actually had a similar experience to McCarthy's with a foxy older woman who looked a lot like Bisset, and it didn't even work after invoking those fond memories (yeah yeah, I know, none of you believe me. Bite me)

The ambiguous title suggest that this might be a film about social/economic classes, or life as a metaphor for the classroom (a place of learning), or simply a classy, distinguished project. It's none of these, but there's some amusement in watching the fledgling brat-packers do their thing despite the story's implausibility.

Filmed at my alma mater, Lake Forest College. Too bad the movie is retarded.

Another bizarro rom-roc from early 80's. It's about school boy, who doesn't look a day over 14 hooking up with Bisset, who looks somewhere in the 40s. I mean WHAT?! Not once in the movie the issue of the woman being a pedophile was addressed. Different times I guess. First movie roles for for Rob Lowe, John Cusack and Andrew McCarthy. I'm yet to see a movie with brat pack I would be okay with.

Class is another one of those 80's sex comedies you've seen already during that era. What saves it, though, is that they're putting more time and effort into the comedy scenes with slapstick writing that plays out like a domino effect. The execution in those scenes also benefits from the fresh performances of upcoming actors that went on to become key heartthrobs in the biggest teen movies from the 80's, such as Rob Lowe, Andrew McCarthy, Alan Ruck and John Cusack.

There are definitely problems with this film which aims to be "The Graduate" for the 80's, but fails to find the right balance between drama and comedy. The slapstick scenes feel out of place in a film which also covers some very serious issues (unhappy marriage, mental problems, etc.), and it was apparently changed heavily in the editing room. Still, you can't help but enjoy the early 80's feel and the cast of Lowe, McCarthy, Bisset and early appearances of Cusack, Ruck, Madsen etc.
