Full of cliches and unrealistic but also quite entertaining.

A messy story is made watchable by some interesting casting. It's fun enough for one watch.

I like the majority of the actors, specially the leads. The black humor was nice and mid part worked fine, but the beginning and the end the director was lost. The length was also an issue here. But the dialogues worked really fine. Pay attention on dialogues with Janeane Garofalo. She was fine.

Really enjoyed how Phoenix's character is just completely in over his head. There's a charm to crime stories like that, and he's such an expert at those kind of roles that it's easy to watch him. Speaking of, Vaughn is a fantastic psychopath. This is one of those stories where you just go along for the ride because it's swift, funny and a little messed up.

Clay Pigeons is a most under-rated film. A dark comedy that has characters who are more like caricatures, a plot that is strange and weird, yet very engrossing push this film to above average for the genre. A well done directorial debut from David Dobkin, the extremely well written screenplay from Matthew L Healy and surprisingly superb acting from Vince Vaughn make this a must see film for any fans of the dark comedy genre

Actually a fine picture although a bit rote. I mainly hold issue with the length which isn't supported by by the otherwise interesting enough characters. At least it avoids the usual friction between the FBI & local law agencies.

This is an interesting film. The script is not perfect but it does contain several good moments. The cast seems to be having a good time with their roles in this film. Overall I would recommend this movie.

Vince Vaughn plays, well, the exact same character he plays in all his movies

Likeable characters. Nice scenery. Funny without being over-the-top. I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Hits its stride as a sick and subtly engrossing small-town daytime noir. The boy-like hee-haw chortle that Vaughn peppers into his manic dialogue is a genuine actor's polish, despite his increasing surge over the top with reachy quirkiness. When the proceedings slacken, we still have Garofalo's melancholy drollery. This is a wise wager if you're looking for something bizarre with a hefty outcome of deft, surprising twists.
