It is the story of a woman (Ornella Muti) who is suddenly abandoned by her lover and mentor, the famous Italian writer Emilio Flora (nominated for a Nobel Prize). For the past three years, this considerably older man has spent most of his time educating her in art, literature and science, and love. Now that he is gone, the woman must try to understand why.
