Viewed February 9, 2021. Bizarre, often unpleasant satire directed by TV legend Norman Lear. Some of its observations are strong, but the way Lear bludgeons them into you makes this a tough sit.

Is it a great media circus/greed satire? Well, it's no "Ace in the Hole", but it's pretty good. It's the only film Normal Lear directed after a substantial run writing comedy scripts for the movies, and right before becoming a massively successful creator of TV shows ("All in the Family" started the same year). He has good comic instincts and attracts a lot of talent ... Tom Poston, Barnard Hughes, Vincent Gardenia, Jean Stapleton and Bob & Ray are just a few.
