Columbus Day

Very slow paced, it's set almost entirely in a park and is mostly dialogue. Kilmer is onscreen in every minute of the film. By no means is this about a heist, it's centered around people and is effective in building the relationships between Kilmer, Helgenberger and the boy, Thompson. While the character development is strong and involved, the overall package feels lacking.

"Columbus Day" is about the characters and less about the action. It needed a better script to be great, but it's watchable.

Expected a bit more but in the end Burmeister presents a solid crime thriller with a good ending.
