Kay Francis is great but if this was made pre code it would’ve been actually good.

One of those awful late-30s films that's all about PUTTING THAT WOMAN IN HER PLACE. Fuck that noise.

So damn moral! And the way the story is laid out it's almost impossible to get behind the content. Gigantic holes in the story typical of Warner Bros programmers trying to tell too much in as little time as possible, resulting in a rushed mess. And this just got worse and worse. I don't even know what they were trying to accomplish in the end. But it did have Kay Francis shining in her moments through the rough script. But Busby Berkeley did not do miracles with this one.
