Comic Book: The Movie

A complete waste, threw the dvd into the fireplace halfway through as a symbolic gesture equivalent to walking out of the theater.

Terrible mockumentary. Not funny, not good, not anything.

There were some laughs to be had here and there. But overall the movie just wasn't as funny as I thought it would be.

I understand what this movie was trying to accomplish (a comedy in the guise of a documentary in the vein of A Mighty Wind and its ilk) and I love Mark Hamill, but this movie just misfired on so many levels. I was rather disappointed.

Mark Hamill calls the cast of this movie "the most talented people you've never heard of." which is true. It's a very talented bunch of voice-over actors, whose work most people are probably familiar with even though they wouldn't know their names.

I like Mark Hamill and I totally get what he was trying to convey with this film. Unfortunately, I think this film will be remembered more for the people associated with it rather than the plot and performances that accompanied it. It has a few standout moments but overall it's far from spectacular. Die hard to the core comic book fans may find some enjoyment. It is what it is. 3 STARS
