What looks like a generic and mediocre suspense flick actually turns out to be quite entertaining and enjoyable. Not great but definitely a lot better than average for the genre. I was quite pleasently surprised.

A smart movie in which they've used a good and entertaining way too present te whole story. In this way the story that's sometimes really quick is really nice and good to follow. Except the ending, which was a predictable and a f ew things in the film I wouldn't have done is this a good movi, more than good, with a good cast that acted superbly. Dustin Hoffman was great.

Confidence is a clever, twist-filled shot at being another Ocean's Eleven. It's not bad, but it's not as much fun as Ocean's Eleven. The chemistry between most of the actors is very fake feeling, but Dustin Hoffman is great nonetheless. If you have a friend who saw it and is willing to see it again, then that's the time you should watch it. Pretty good!

What appears to be a minor crime drama/heist adventure turns out to be a well thought out and intelligent film. Not exactly Mamet, but a step ahead of The Italian Job.

Decidedly average crime thriller/heist that doesn't quite know whether it wants to thrill you, mystify you, or impress you with its fake artiness and noir-wannabe voiceover. Add to that a Dustin Hoffman performance that somehow manages to be simultaneously lazy and hammy, and you get cinema that is pretty much a waste of everybody else's time.

A decent little capery twist movie. I give it a good rating because every one of these movies throws stupid and unnecessary twists in for shock value, and this film doesn't insult your intelligence. It's not The Sting, but it's an entertaining two hours that won't annoy you.

Falls short of a great con film but nevertheless strikes a bit of an attention claim.

Gets way too convoluted and confusing at the end. But a good ride up until that point.

Expect only a momentary diversion from CONFIDENCE, because you're not going to get much more out of it. It's a fast-food crime caper tasty enough to hold you over until the next meal.

Well Ed Burns oozed charm. In fact, the whole cast was pretty solid. The story is complicated enough to be interesting and require some thought. It's a decent entertainment and that's good enough!

not as good as the other con man movie that came out at about the same time, and I can't remember the superior film's name, so that shows how bad this one is.

A suspense movie of a different kind. CONfidence has an all star cast ensemble and a caper story that likes to take a brisk walk. I liked it.

I'm pretty tired of "con game" movies, but this one had a decent con and resolution. Ed Burns was a bit disappointing--especially since he has the tools to be a good lead, but he just came across as dull, almost disinterested in the part. Hoffman didn't work for me in this.

Gets a little too witty for its own good and seems to confuse itself. Still the acting is good and it's worth seeing.

one of many con man/caper movies to come out of the early/mid 2000's, none of which sucked, most of which were at least decent. this one falls into the decent category, no better. the only pluses it has on it's side is ed burns, who i may have a man crush on.

I couldn't figure out why this was worse than Ocean's Eleven. Because believe me, it's stylish enough to compete. The cinematography and editing refuse to let us forget we're watching a slick heist movie. But the lame framing device deflates what little tension there might be, and every character except Hoffman's feels paper thin; there's no reason to care about them. Hoffman is the only one having fun. It's like he directed his own scenes.

Better than expected. It felt a bit like the pilot movie to a grifter tv show at times, but it was enjoyable still. Interesting characters as well, even if they used twice the "look, I'm an eccentric no-BS problem!" gig with Garcia and Hoffman

Fun spin round on the “nesting con” movie is light-going and inconsequential, but made at least partially memorable by a fine cast having a great time (especially a slimy, sneering Hoffman), though the manic contrivances that kick in during the final act expose the story gears and make you realise the slightly clumsy construction at play. Consistently entertaining, but may end up reminding you too much of overall better entries in the genre (GET SHORTY, OCEAN’S ELEVEN etc.)
