Confirm or Deny

Apparently a difficult wartime movie to bring out in full blossom because of all the re-writes. At least that was Fritz Lang opinion, who bailed and was replaced by another highly competent director Archie Mayo, who also failed to really make the story count. Don Ameche doesn't really come across sympathetic enough to get behind him and Joan Bennett just seemed confined by all the male presence. It clear there was no prestige attached to the production regardless of being a Samuel Fuller story.
