I was watching the movie when all of a sudden they threw in this obscure reference to lyrics from a second tier song by The Police, and I recognized it immediately because I had their greatest hits CD on heavy rotation. That's when I knew something more was going on here. Why that song? How much did this movie know about me personally? I had my answer after they revealed his refrigerator was full of jars of urine.

I have a special affinity for this movie. I just like the way Mel Gibson and Julia Roberts work off each other, and the movie is compelling by most standards. I like it.

Absolute garbage. People who believe in conspiracy theories need to be dragged into the street and shot like dogs before they can breed with the sane population. Wretched, instantly forgettable, amazingly stupid film.

Incredibly silly movie made watchable by the chemistry between the leads. Although neither is believable in their roles individually, they do get along well together.

I probably shouldn't still like this one. But I do. Mel is truly great here; the script isn't. (If not much else, you're likely to remember it for what is quite possibly the worst pun in cinema history: "Now he nose, now he nose". Glorious.)

An odd, yet likable thriller. When it doesn't totally work, it manages to move at high speeds to keep you interested. Maybe that's due to Mel Gibson's performance and the direction of action-maestro Richard Donner.

Expected a little more from a Silver picture, but Julia's endearing smile coupled with Mel's fidgeting in this throwaway plot are surprisingly watchable and interesting. As the picture winds down i grew tired of the talking heads and the whole thing, almost had a good ending.

All because I'm paranoid doesn't mean that they're not out to get me. Mel Gibson plays a schitzophrenic to the hilt. Julia Roberts is very good as well. Patrick Stewart is awesome here too.

One of Gibson's last great films before his career went kerplunk and his racist views became public knowledge. "Much Madness is Divinest Sense" Emily Dickinson once wrote...not in Mel's case...he's just malevolently crazy.

This was back when Mel Gibson as a character who's completely out of his mind was casting against type. Oh how times have changed, and the movie is now much funnier for it. The only way to justify the romance here is to ask yourself if a woman like Roberts could look through psychosis if the guy looked like Mel Gibson. When she thinks he's dead, all she says is "I miss your face." I laughed. Also, LOL when she runs to avoid capture and a sniper opens fire on her, shooting his own man.

Starring reactionary Catholic bigot Mel Gibson and Fat Lips Roberts, this isn't the best outing for either of them. I kinda love this film though! It has a brilliant musical score (it really does!) and a crap ending. A very guilty pleasure, no doubt.

Paranoia thriller without a milliwatt of power to compel belief. Donner, no one's notion of an auteur, pays homage to himself by having the hero take refuge from his unnumbered pursuers in a packed movie theater playing Ladyhawke, although it's a Hitchcock film -- Torn Curtain -- from which he steals the idea of starting a stampede with a single shouted word. Indeed the movie comes across as a kind of Frankenstein's monster stitched together, and very sloppily, from parts of other thrillers.

There's something delightfully tongue-in-cheek about this film, giving the idea of conspiracy theories a sort of bizarre life that pokes fun at the concept on a regular basis - the great setpiece that uses silent helicopters and library databases to find Gibson the apex of this. Gibson and Stewart add to this absurdity, but it's undone by a lame-duck romantic element that adds nothing to the film and a growing sense of undue seriousness as the theory becomes OMG REAL.

Lots of residual love for this forgotten thriller have I, long enthralled by the shadowy cinematography, brassy Carter Burwell score, and Mel Gibson's hammy performance, which on a Crazy Eyes scale of 1-10 probably clocks in at about a HOLY SHIT. I'm aware that few will agree with me, but I'm here to be honest with myself and the world.

Mel Gibson regaling the unfortunate passengers in his cab about the various conspiracy theories he ostensibly puts forth in his zine, also named Conspiracy Theory. The filmmakers wink at the audience by lovingly hauling out conspiracy lore, like Jerry's belief that fluoride is being used to weaken the virility of the American people, a suspicion he shares with Sterling Hayden's General Jack D. Ripper in Dr. Strangelove.

Crazy fucking cabbies. Maniacal Mel Gibson - as if that would surprise anyone - is more maniacal than ever. The wheelchair escape scene is the bomb. There are a million plot holes and unbelievable progressions, but Manic Mel keeps the show running smoothly. Julia Roberts who doesn't give in to the pressure of acting alongside Manic Mel shows noteworthy calmness and delivers a very well-rounded performance. She is also very pretty in this film.

A rollercoaster of a thriller. Dark, intense, paranoid, funny. It has it all. Definitely one of Gibsons best performances. As with any other movies with such big names in the lead roles it's bound to be a bit on the cheesy and hollywoody side here and there, especially with the mandatory romance aspect. Other than that it's awesome.
