Poetic, experimental and different, Container is described by Lukas Moodysson as "a black and white silent movie with sound" and with the following words; "A woman in a man's body. A man in a woman's body. Jesus in Mary's stomach. The water breaks. It floods into me. I can't close the lid. My heart is full." (imdb)

Opaque sequences of words opaquely placed on top of opaque sequences of visuals. The stream-of-consciousness monologue that runs non-stop through the entire film has a handful of poetic and, when imparting meaningful information about the character, even touching moments, and I guess it's jumbled for a reason, not to mention that Jena Malone does a consistently great job with it, however it mostly makes for an unappealing, difficult and, coupled with the redundant visuals, boring watch.

Although I have scored some movies lower than this, I can't think of a single one I would less want to sit through again than this piece of tripe. Nonsensical, interminably boring, and devoid of any merit. Fails on all levels to be at all watchable. Moodysson, I forgive you, you have made some genius films (excluding this one).

Lukas Moodyson (Show Me Love, Together, Lilya 4-Ever) goes arthouse; one long stream-of-consciousness monologue about bodies, celebrities, religion, sex and everything else, almost inaudibly recited over grainy black-and-white footage of a man and a woman picking through the debris of the early 21st century. Occasionally captivating, but I just don't have the tools for this.
