This movie is in serious need of a critical reappraisal. I'm absolutely baffled by the overwhelmingly negative reputation it has. Yes, I wish it wasn't a PG family film. There are some great hints at parody and meta commentary. I think this would have been absolutely amazing if Somers had taken more risks, and fully pushed it in that direction. That said Chase, Palance, and Wiest are all fantastic. If you're a Chase fan looking for some mindless fun, give this one a chance.

Strange film. Not good.

Unfunny and dumb. I saw this one in the theater. Now I'm sad.

Jack Palance and Chevy Chase. This movie is actually more unpredictable and bizarre than I expected, but yet, Chevy Chase is cold in his cheeseball goofiness.

I've seen way worse films. Worth it just for Jack Palance.
