Fair coming-of-age story of a young girl in Italy as she starts to see the world with grown-up eyes. It's a little heavy-handed in showing the hypocrisy of the Catholic Church (mostly personified by a distracted priest longing for a bigger and better congregation, but also by a frustrated teacher preparing some students for Confirmation). There are a few potentially interesting side stories, but none ever really get explored, making the whole piece feel unfinished.

A young girl from Switzerland moves to Italy with her family and starts preparing for her Confirmation. She comes to realize the hypocrisy of her Sunday school teacher and priest and her own sense of morality starts to develop. A nice enough film with a great performance from young Yle Vianello in the lead role that kind of ambles along amiably.
