There's something really inexplicably cool about the visuals here and it gets stronger as it goes on, which isn't always a given with Conner.

There's some real intensity here in both the visuals and editing.

Pretty cool, but after seeing 1000 lazy imitations of this style used to signify the hippy 60s, I can't help hold Connor partly responsible for spawning a monster. (On the other hand, I'm sure it influenced Adam Curtis's "It Felt Like a Kiss", which is brilliant, so maybe it's a draw)

a well-edited short basically featuring a naked woman doing whatever to a ray charles song, interspersed with imagery of societal 'progress'.

If you dig in to the pellicule of nudity or salacious media, under the pop-culture, you'll see the oppressed (Indian and black men) and armies and explosions as well, but still if they are served with a nice music and a rash rhythm, you'll enjoy it. Nice experiment on semiotics and the unconscious of cinema.

The thrusts of the first half of the American twentieth century - sex, war, and global pop culture - distilled in a flurry of bold imagery.

Playful, sexual, explosive, political; in short: incredibly sixties
