The dog was OK, though this one feels like a bit of a quickie.

Harold Lloyd shorts are always fast-paced! I'll give 'em that. But they're not always polished. One of those throw any idea in and hope it works type comedies full of drunks, punches and falls.... and a few clever ideas as well. Like the trash can dog protector one. All three have their moments (meaning also 'Snub' Pollard & Bebe Daniels who are always with him in these late-1910s shorts), but when it comes down to it, this is just a ordinary rough assembly line slapstick comedy.
