Countdown

This is an interesting defacto alternate history built around the idea the Russians being much further along with their space program then they actually were. Sadly despite the premise the ending of the film is likely the only really memorable thing about it

Though dated, this is more scientifically accurate than _Destination Moon_ and benefits from its low-key presentation and realistic performances by Caan and Duvall.

Drama about space shots to the moon may be dated by now, but it has some good moments. If you can be patient through the soap opera of the spacemen's private lives, the finale delivers the goods.
