College student Ella is completely focused on her ambiguously romantic relationship with her dorm-mate, Chris. She is so consumed by trying to understand his behavior that she's neglecting the screenplay she is supposed to write in order to graduate. When she does sit down to work on the script, her increasingly awkward social life bleeds onto the page and her work begins to express her true feelings about her own situation. (imdb)

Although it has alive dialogue and moments of tender realism, this pretty dull film has bad pacing and a great feeling of unimportance to it. I'd only recommend it to fans of Lena Dunham.

I feel sort of bad for not rating this higher, since it actually isn't terrible for what it is, which is to say it's exactly what you's expect from a moderately talented college student who was inspired by Funny Ha Ha (albeit intercut with an awful film-within-the-film that i think/hope Dunham knew was a bad idea). That said, considering that relatively accomplished aesthetics were one of the main appeals of Tiny Furniture, the sloppiness of this doesn't leave a whole lot besides navel-gazing.
