Creative Nonfiction

Although it has alive dialogue and moments of tender realism, this pretty dull film has bad pacing and a great feeling of unimportance to it. I'd only recommend it to fans of Lena Dunham.

I feel sort of bad for not rating this higher, since it actually isn't terrible for what it is, which is to say it's exactly what you's expect from a moderately talented college student who was inspired by Funny Ha Ha (albeit intercut with an awful film-within-the-film that i think/hope Dunham knew was a bad idea). That said, considering that relatively accomplished aesthetics were one of the main appeals of Tiny Furniture, the sloppiness of this doesn't leave a whole lot besides navel-gazing.
