The less tactical the choreography gets the more fun it is to watch. It's kind of like Cirque du Soleil. I think the foley guy was on acid.

The villains start out with their own sympathetic mini-arc, which works wonders. However, the casual crippling of the main cast is pretty dark, giving the fun and acrobatic fights that follow a slightly uncomfortable aftertaste.

Sentimentally, my favorite Shaw Bros. film, every Venom gets something to do and Lu Feng was never badder. Best training sequences, best fights, including the ending which is a sprawling fifteen minute long war.

really depressing when they're being crippled, really really badass when they're being avengers.

While the premise is pretty silly there are a large number of well choreographed fight scenes that make this really entertaining. The title characters are interesting enough, but I liked the depiction of the villains even more.

An average story is boosted by fun fights and great athleticism. The cripple gimmicks becomes a moot point towards the end but that's okay because by that time you just wanna see asses getting kicked.

Sheng Chiang (the idiot) is fantastic in this, and the final fight is just a true spectacle.

Though the plot is unrelated, this features the same main cast as 5 Deadly Venoms, and a far greater volume of fighting ensures that this time we get to see what great athletes they are. Much of it seems more showy than brutal, and in fact the final fight sequence just has them gleefully cartwheeling and backflipping and jumping through hoops before finally remembering that they're supposed to exact revenge on their dance mates. By this point their "handicaps" are long forgotten.

Some amazing fighting, and the gimmicks that the crippled fighters use to overcome their handicaps are pretty clever.

I was able to ignore the sillyness and enjoy the fights. Nice one.

New as I am to them, I'm always a little surprised how brutal (this era of) Shaw Bros films can be. But it's a welcome meanness, especially crucial here for providing our heroes with their motivation for revenge. As always, the plot is an imaginative and colorful framework upon which the Venoms build with their usual blend of awe-inspiring acrobatics and ferocious violence. Chang, as always, is acutely aware of when to punch up the proceedings, and when to hang back and let the Venoms do work.

Fun, but nothing special. High-point is the guy convincing the one bad guy to let him kick him with his iron feet.

This movie is loaded of horrible acting, idiotic script and ridiculous fighting. I especially disliked the awful special effects and the idiotic characters. I wish it were possible to ignore the absurdities, but it was incredibly difficult to enjoy any of it. Every action had an idiotic sound effect, and the slow motion was the worst, showing only how bad the director was at displaying anything resembling a real fight. Lame, stupid and cheap best describes this.

Such a fun and dark premise, almost like a great fable. While each of the heroes has shortcomings that they must overcome with teamwork, it doesn't always flesh that concept out or very cleverly, but the overall plot is still a lot of fun with a great reason for revenge, characters that each stand out, and great villains. And is it mere coincidence that the villain of the movie, Tu Tin Toe, gets killed by a man with iron prosthetic legs? I think not.
