I’m obsessed with the IMDB trivia tidbit that DiCaprio’s role was for Cary Elwes. WHAT!? “Cary bubbalah, you can play a teenager who is dragged around by a stepdad who wishes he was Vincent Price” They went TOO BIG with the gags in the second one there really isn’t that much you can do new with these critters but ehn this was fine for an after turkey dinner haze. Someone deep fake a crite over the bear in The Revenant.

Watching my grandmother strip in a creepy basement while Yakity Sax is playing in the background is more enjoyable than this insanely boring piece of crap.

Wauw. I'm flabbergasted. The franchise takes a gigantic nose-dive with this unbe-fucking-lievably annoying and truly terrible "movie". You have been warned: do not consider checking this out, not even for a second.

GENERAL HEALTH WARNING: DO NOT WATCH ALL FOUR CRITTERS MOVIES BACK TO BACK - At this point it seems they have just about given up on the concept and are only making Critters movies because the freaking handpuppets are lying around anyway... The end credit "cliffhanger" sequence is especially malicious, essentially made to squeeze any will to live out the poor bastards still watching...

I don't know if it is because they made this movie simultaneously with the fourth film, or that director Kristine Peterson, who is more known for her work as an assistant director and second unit director in the 80's, but this film really feels like a second rate "Critters" movie. Besides the new "Sonic the Hedgehog" charge-up spin, even the "Critters" themselves feel like B-roll from the previous films, just in a new dull setting. There is still time for you to stop here and avoid the 4th.

Not a good movie, but I've always had a soft spot for the Critters franchise. Part 3 is most notable as an early DiCaprio movie. Fairly watchable if taken with a good dose of Captain Morgan.

Unfortunatly there is nothing new in the second sequel to the low budget 80's horror flick critters. The approach is more like the first, where a family gets attacked by the critters ( as in opposed to part two, where an entire town gets over run), so thats nothing new. The jokes are recycled, the gore is almost gone, and the acting/story at parts is laughable. Watch for a young DiCaprio! Earning his stripes in Hollywood

Mildly amusing, but it lacks in any tension or excitement.

Critters in a dumpy apartment block. Passable if you are prepared to lower your standards through the floor. The critters look half decent, and the way the cliffhanger ending sets up the next film is quite unusual. That's it, aside from being an early DiCaprio film. It's more of a comedy than the previous installments, but it lacks the wit and style of 2 and the novelty of 1.

The first time I watched it, it was only because of Leonardo DiCaprio. It is not a quite good film.

Well, the stars are mainly for the Critters themselves in this one as they are funny and the limitations of the puppets aren't TOO obvious. More of an attempt to individualise the crites is made, with one burning its face with bleach and another drinking washing up liquid, little theft from the Gremlins franchise here.

This ends abruptly with a setup for the next sequel and in retrospect is probably only noteworthy for the appearance of a young diCaprio in his preteen heartthrob days.

I kinda liked the end credit bit, because it was bizarre enough to be memorable, and because it signalled the end of this absolute nightmare. You know the movie is headed nowhere fast, when it spends five minutes with a montage of 'greatest hits' from Critters and Critters 2... THERE ARE NO GREATEST HITS FROM THOSE TWO MOVIES!!!

One of the finest DiCaprio performances. Snubbed for an Oscar here. Wait I am thinking of What's Eating Gilbert Grape.

I'm honestly not sure who this movie was made for. I can't recommend this one except for very forgiving completists who are futily hoping to recapture the magic of the first movie. I'm looking at you, "Highlander" fans.

It never really justifies its existence & it feels like a clunky mishmash of ideas for the most part, but it's also a lot more entertaining than it has any right to be & features some genuinely decent acting from a talented cast. DiCaprio is already showing off his superstar potential here as a Crite-fighting kid, & the other characters are enjoyable enough. The death toll is shockingly low & there isn't much horror to be found, but overall this isn't terrible. Not necessary, but not terrible..

What started as a fairly good terror movie with Critters 1, became a too obvious gremlins rip off with this one. There is even a sort of Stripe critter. Even more comedy and less terror than in the 2nd installment. Don't waste your time.

About what you would expect from a 90s era, direct-to-video sequel, but this is still reasonably tense at times (especially if, like me, you have an instinctive aversion to the Critters themselves) and served well by its cast, alternating conviction with goofball playing to the cheap seats. Likely to be forever infamous as “the one with Leonardo DiCaprio in it”, and he does a serviceable job; the switch from a rural to urban setting is a nice change that the film-makers never really exploit.
