It's pretty dated and a little offensive at times, but it's still a fine time. I laughed out loud at some of the jokes and I also thought there were some pretty shots of Australia in the first half, and a pretty fitting score. Overall it's worth seeing if you haven't already and are looking for something good to pass the time.

Fish out of water Ozploitation but he was a pretty badass character. Stupid ending. Fav scene: I didn't realize "no, this is a knife" was a quote from this movie.

The old country-bumpkin-in-big-city routine. The city, as so often, is New York; the country, this time, is Australia -- the "bush." Hogan, commercial spokesman for Australian tourism and Australian beer, is herein a pitchman for Australian "character" or Australian manhood or just himself. It was the surprise hit of 1986: Soo-proize? 'S a bladdy amizement, i'n' it? Cute ending, though.

Great idea for a movie. Kind of like the country mouse visiting the city mouse on a larger scale. Cute, funny in parts, but not at the top of the list.

Very stereotypical middle-of-the-road 80's fare: Take a narrow, niche idea and turn it into a 90 minute comedy. Worth seeing once just so you can do the whole "That's a knife" bit and not be a poseur.

Charming, but lightweight comedy. Isn't all that funny and is pretty much innocuous, but knows how to push the right buttons. Somehow became a smash hit and a large part of America's weird obsession with Australia during the 1980s.

Dundee never loses it: Mick is a likeable character, Sue easy on the eye, and overall the film is sweet and feelgood. You’re drawn in to the impressive Australian outback, and how this peaceful, scenic location juxtaposes with bustling Manhattan. Although watching it again 35 years on you realise they could have made more of the culture clash confusion in New York, and the whole thing seems to fly through much more quickly than I remember. Still good though.

Dated, montage-ridden, romantic comedy in which Miss Reporter New Yorker openly cheats on her snob boyfriend with some randomer she just met from the Australian bush. It's FUNNY. It's funny cos he's Australian. It's funny cos he's from the bush but now he's in the city and he doesn't know how to behave. It's funny. (That climax is pretty great though, right?)

Had a lot of potential that it didn't quite live up to. It isn't until the second half that the movie really tries to do anything funny, and that first half plays more like a romance movie. I don't think it quite lives up to other 80s comedies like Coming to America or Bill & Ted

You've heard of "fish out of water" movies, well this is a "Croc out of water" story. Crocodile Dundee has its moments but honestly it isn't the classic I remembered. Maybe, I've just seen so many of this type of movie, they don't faze me anymore. It's a halfway decent romantic comedy. Linda Kozlowki is pretty enough and Paul Hogan is about as manly as a male lead as you can get (although what's with that tan?) but I wouldn't even say this is a great romantic comedy...

Pretty bad. One fish out of water story turns into another with the difference being the woman couldn't handle it while the man easily could. Very stereotypical with a few scenes that are cringe-worthy now. Wasn't very funny and the ending reduced my opinion of it even lower.
