Crumbs

There's a lot to like, especially the two leads and the amazing cinematography/locations. I have to rate this film higher than my gut tells me to simply because it has some of the best shots of the year and has worthy aspirations. Unfortunately I can't really recommend it to anyone- the story never gets going, and the ending is weirdly abrupt. I like the idea of this film more than the reality.

Lushly ruined like an African "Stalker", and if it's not quite as surefooted it's part of the story; where Tarkovsky's characters know what they don't know, Llansó's are stuck in a world where all that remains is overgrown palaces, rusted-out machines and cheap indestructible plastic toys, and whatever kind of sense the last few humans can cobble together from it. Doesn't get everything exactly right, but it's still the best Superman adaptation since "Superman II".
