I went to go see Trouble with the Curve thinking it would be the last Eastwood role, well here we are almost ten years later and it wasnt even close to true. Csnt wait for Dirty Harry 100. Eastwood has been old my entire life. Would it hurt to be punched by a 92 year old man, I think I could take it. Eastwood casting terrible actors opposite him to just dunk on them. Kid gets out acted by a rooster who kinda gives ol Clint trouble

Thirty years now of Clint starring in movies about aging, endings, becoming irrelevant etc (Unforgiven, Space Cowboys, Million $ Baby, Gran Torino, Trouble w/ Curve, Mule, now this). It’s become a little much, and this is the oldest-feeling yet. Should have debuted direct to TVs in nursing home rec rooms. Hot Mexican divorcee wanting to ride Clint’s 90 year old flesh rocket is skin crawling lmao. All that said I do still like seeing Clint, hence rating not being lower.

While this wasn't a great movie and Eastwood was about twenty years too old for the role, the character was supposed to be in his 50s-60s, this was a decent film. Eastwood looks very old and frail in this but I can't really say anything bad about it because he moves around and looks like what most actors and people, in general, do in their 70s. Dwight Yoakam and Eduardo Minett were terrible and the screenplay was a bit of a mess but I still had a reasonably good time.

An elderly man becomes the substitute father for a troubled teen and comes to be appreciated for it. A surprisingly warm and tender film focused on small exchanges and avoiding excessive sentimentality, ending for instance without any clear resolution for the boy. On the down side, the promiscuous, uncaring yet controlling mother is a ludicrous caricature giving the film an unconvincing and moralistic setup, but thankfully she exits proceedings at a fairly early stage. Performances are variable.

At this point, the notion of Eastwood still moseying along and making the films he wants to make is almost reassuring and comforting enough to allow said films to coast on nostalgia; this is a soft, sweethearted and sentimental effort, hamstrung by its star who is clearly decades too old for this role (and uncomfortably looks and behaves like it); and Eastwood has already traversed this and similar material multiple times before (and more successfully). Recommended for the die hards.

This kind of heartwarming story about 2 different people coming together isn't really meant for me so it's tough to rank. Despite this I have to imagine that even my mom may find 91 year old Eastwood presenting himself as an object of lust to much younger women ludicrous. The boy is also supposed to be a rough street kid, but you never see any sign of that. I assume these kinds of common contrivances don't bother the target audience. Despite the silliness, it held my interest enough. Looks great

A tender sendoff (?) for Eastwood. Reminds me of hanging out with my grandpa.

The story meandered a bit and was sometimes contradictory but was mostly interesting and moved quickly. I was sorry to see just how frail and unsteady Clint Eastwood is at 91 years old. The unlikely situations worked out better than expected. A combination of dumb luck and perseverance, and the happy ending seemed a bit of a stretch. Barely worthwhile. I guess I better head off to Mexico and find me a bride half my age. :)

Possibly the worst Clint Eastwood movie? The story is sappy and uninteresting, dialogues are poorly written, acting is quite bad. Are all women Eastwood's character encounters going to fall in love with him instantly? Apparently so.

It was awful at the beginning even as I was actively trying to enjoy it as a Clint Eastwood fan. It did grow on me a bit towards the middle, but ultimately this is just a bad version of Gran Torino, and the kid probably acted worse than Tao. Eastwood is 25 years too old for the role.

This film could have used a better script. The performances are good in this movie but the script doesn't really offer anything most audiences haven't seen before. Overall this movie is disappointing.

90 yaşına rağmen gayet iyi ve zamanının gerisinde kalmayan bir yönetmenlik sergileyen Clint Eastwood'un Cry Macho'su maalesef iyi bir film olmaktan çok uzak.

I was shocked to see Clint in front of the camera again. He is quite old to play this part, even though it is for an older man. The story is enough to get and keep you interested. The child actor did a nice job as well.

I know, Clint Eastwood is now 91 years old and probably both directing and starring is quite challenging for him. But this movie is really far below his standards. The script is very shallow, the casting choices are bad, and his performance isn't good either. The Mule would have been a better choice for him to retire from acting.

A defiantly old fashioned story and another film about aging by Clint, who is far too old for this role at 91 and whose creaky movements are occasionally uncomfortable to watch. Like its protagonist, it isn't in a rush to go anywhere, and its casual breezy pace moves the plot along at a pleasing meter. It is about the small moments, and some of those moments are good, but the cumulative effect is slight and unmemorable.

It closes a trilogy with Eastwood/Schenk's myths of decaying masculinity. Now there is just nothing left, an old body having to run an arrow for his boss (he saved his life when he lost his wife and son in an accident and wanted to drink his way to death). Of course rescuing the kid from his vicious, abusive mom is the mission. The actual thing is actually finding a new home -- and Texas is just not it. Fried chicken, Mexican music and a widow. So fragile, weird, naive, both dry and emotional.

Viewed September 29, 2021. There’s a grace in Eastwood’s unhurried pacing and his focus on small moments, and the movie pointedly never builds to a moment of crescendo or suspense so that these moments resonate further. Eastwood’s ruminations on old age will always fascinate and move me, and I appreciate how much this one is about the incongruity of his presence — in 1970s Mexico within the film, but also within the cinematic landscape of 2021.

My main problem is that like Eastwood trying to walk up a knoll, the pacing is glacial. I like him, as always, and I like seeing him as a good but "fed up with this shit" old man, but it's just not that entertaining. That would be acceptable if it didn't shoehorn "tense" moments that come and go quickly, or if the interactions with the boy were worth investing in. It's a tender movie with some potent moments, but they are too few and far between to recommend this. Directing is sold though.

Not as good as some of Eastwood’s recent stuff (especially the mule). But it’s a nice and somewhat touching retread of the typical Eastwood mythos

All in all, it proves that even at 92, Clint Eastwood can still put out a good movie. It’s an enjoyable if a little slow, road trip movie full of heart.
