Every single person interviewed mentions seeing this in a theater where everyone in the audience screamed and cheered and ran inside the screen and became Jasons and killed the projectionist and then everyone applauded.

The definitive book on Friday The 13th was adapted into a documentary and I must confess it's great Especially for me because I love behind the scenes and special effects and how all the films come together etc It reminds me of Never Sleep Again in a lotta ways But I felt the cast and crew had more fun with it The one flaw (in my opinion) I felt the commentary track was a little unnecessary

If you are a fan of the "Friday the 13th" franchise and your recent marathon didn't quite scratch your "Camp Crystal Lake" itch, and you have another 7 hours to kill, this is certainly the documentary for you. Daniel Farrands gives "Jason Voorhees" the same treatment he did "Freddy Krueger" in "Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy"(2010) with another strangely addictive series review, who's "best of" style behind-the-scenes love letter, makes you want to watch them all over again.

(viewed 5.5 hour version on Youtube): The definitive Friday the 13th documentary, but due to the conceptual limitations of the series, unlike Never Sleep Again, there isn't much to discuss, so a sense of repetition inevitably sets in. Its impact on popular culture at large is also explored with less depth, but again that makes sense as the series was more deeply reactionary than either Halloween or Elm Street, although this tendency is barely discussed. Essential viewing for fans of course.

There are some fun set stories, but the bulk of the documentary is about detailing how exactly they filmed each death sequence and why the MPAA cut out all the good parts.

Great way to kill 7 hours on a Sunday. Really fascinating to watch the production team change over 30 years, from what were basically softcore pornographers and total sleazebags to a bunch of manchild fanboys, and realize how much those changes are reflected in the movies.

This long ass direct to video documentary has behind the scenes interviews with past cast and crew who were in the Friday the 13th franchise. Unfortunately there's no Kevin Bacon, Kelly Hu, or any other actors of note who were in the franchise. It's more amusing to learn how studios managed to squeeze money out of such a piss poor horror franchise which became an American icon. This is mostly for hardcore fans but if you're interested in horror at all it's still interesting. Plus it has tits.

I watched this because I love the franchise and cause I doubt we'll ever get another one at this point. Also it was pretty cool.

Oh my 6 hours and 40 minutes. I'll never get that back! Maybe I don't want it back.

Well ... this is certainly complete. I have read the book this is based on, and I preferred it because: a) At almost 7 hours, this might as well be a book. b) The book doesn't make you listen to a lot of people whose egos won't let them admit that they are just some small time actor who appeared in a horror film once Still ... if you like this series, this is a lot of fun ... and I like this series. You can probably save yourself some time and not watch the last hour.
