This film is all about showcasing Shirley Temple's adorable talents. The story and all the other characters are an afterthought.

From the moment you see her curly hair at the beginning to the tap dance scene on top of piano at the end Shirley Temple owns this picture.This has three of her best set pieces in Animal Crackers, When I Grow Up and the aforementioned tap dance number and showcases her talent wonderfully.

Good old orphan fun! Shirley rules the picture when she's singing her songs! And she's got chemistry with just about everyone, even the animals! But they got to sprinkle the movie with something else then Shirley or it'll become too sweet, but the romance bubbling between John Boles and Rochelle Hudson was also sweet so we were still overdosed!
