Watched this only because some scenes were shot in the pub I used to run. True story: I cooked the steaks that Malkovich and Platt ate and it was Malkovich who told me it was the "best fucking steak he ever had". Platt got the line in the movie but I got the memory. Pacing issues abound, as do sound and focus issues, but I thought this was a solid little indie thriller.

It's as though it had all the ingredients for a good movie: John Malkovich, a mute Native, Autist Chigurh. But somehow the threads just never pull together. Sad.

Nah... This has a Coen brother vibe to it, but it ain't working at all. It's an impressive cast, though only Malkovich gets the job done. *Bad

Michael Stuhlbarg is straight unrecognizable. I didn't know he could do haggard so well and that next to Bruce Dern in his raddled twilight. Great cast that of course sets as its main character the least interesting amongst them. I was entertained enough by the support that it passes grade for me.

Weird and twisted but fun. Not the best mystery movie, but it was still interesting to see things unfolding and figuring out what on earth was going on. A bit of a clipped ending, but it's alright.

Very underrated…I thoroughly enjoyed the plot, the dialogue, the characters and the simultaneous feelings of isolation and claustrophobia of the small town life.

Dern's and Stuhlbarg's characters are the only ones that I find to be worth investing in. Their back-and-forth dialogue is pretty great. I get this feeling that this WANTS to be something akin to "No Country For Old Men", but lacks many elements of that or similar movies. Does this make the movie bad? Not at all. It's got its own style, and an atmosphere all its own as well. Maybe it's played a little too cornball and the motivations may be wonky, but forgivably so. This is interesting at least.

Cut Bank may not be a superior thriller but it's entertaining moment-to-moment and features some memorable performances, especially from Malkovich and Stuhlbarg.

Teresa Palmer plays a great young dumb blonde, and looks like Kristen Stewart. Liam Hemsworth is a handsome leading man. Both were convincing. He masterminds a crime but everything goes sideways. The plot is haphazard at best. Good performances from Malkovich and Thornton buck it up. The story is all over the place. The improbable ending is much like the rest of it. It's not a good mystery, not a good love story, not much action, not really a horror movie, but with a few elements of each.

Career suicide for everyone involved.

A humorous mystery crime that results in a violent slasher story. It's nowhere really exciting, but nevertheless it was an amusing flick. My opinion here : http://opinion-as-a-moviefreak.blogspot.com/2015/06/cut-bank-2014.html
