D3: The Mighty Ducks

A photocopy of a photocopy of a photocopy... except this one's also been crumpled up, tossed in the trash, had coffee and rancid dishwater spilled on it, only to finally be fished out of the garbage and rushed into theaters at the last minute.

How can a hockey team win the world championship one year then not make a college team the next? Seriously now.

How many times can Disney recycle the same formula? Three, apparently.

The first film was ok. The second film got sorta stupid, but I forgave it, kinda. I don't know what the fuck was going on here. It sticks with the characters and their personalities, but after the second film, how does this one make any fucking sense. In fact, how did the second movie make any fucking sense?

I didn’t actually mind the lighter focus on Emilio Esteves; I like Joshua Jackson, he’s worthy of leading a movie. But the attempts at positioning the Ducks as underdogs AGAIN after they won the fucking junior world championship last time out now just play as ridiculous.

Aaaaaaand down it goes to shitty-movie-land.

The films keep getting worse in this series. At least this was the last in the film series. The Joshua Jackson character is a spoiled brat in this movie.

How can you not like the Mighty Ducks trilogy? If you don't, you should be ashamed of yourself. Probably the best hockey movies after 'Slap Shot'.

The Ducks have grown up too much by now, so D3 was harder to relate to for a new, younger audience, and the original audience stopped caring. Also, the lack of Emilio Estevez, due to him working on his directorial resume, doesn't help the washed up series. Crap!

D3: No one cares about the Ducks anymore.

The worst in the series, the movie takes a huge hit from the loss of Estevez, however he still appears in the movie seeming to provide more of a tease.

Hockey never was entertaining, but the third time around, a kids movie about hockey is ridiculous.

Not so mighty now, amirite?

It's the Mighty Ducks all grown up and it's kinda interesting to see. BUT... how can you ever ever ever have a Mighty Ducks movie where the majority of the film has a complete lack of Emilio?!

Lacks both talent and knucklepuck to a certain extent.

Rehashed trash that only raises questions but no answers. Who thought another sequel was necessary? How can a world champion team not make a college team the next year? Where is Emilio? Why am I still watching this to the end?

It's still the Mighty Ducks.

I like the series so I'm giving this way too much credit. It lacks the fun of the first two, but retains the poor acting and bad hockey scenes.

If you're a MD fan I would definitely watch this. The dynamic of a new coach is interesting and it makes Coach Bombay's appearances all the more special. I enjoyed it from start to finish. Yes there are some goofy prank scenes but go back and watch the original to find scenes of a similar tone. The more comedic scenes nicely offset the more emotional sporting scenes and speeches, just like in the original. No it isn't the original film,but if you can get over that then I'm convinced you'll enjoy

The first one is a nice kids film, but by the time they had got to D3 any charm the series had had gone.

Only good for quoting during NHL 09 games at this point.

This is trash. Varsity team vs the new comers. It just felt like one of these college movies more than anything where they are sleeping in dorms etc. Really crappy movie.

The maturation of The Mighty Ducks was not a promsing idea, but it was better than expected.

I was invited to see this movie with my cousin when I was a kid. I did not want to go. But my parents forced me.

Seen: 2-3. It's been awhile, but I know I have seen this more than once. And I knew, even back then, that the setup of the third installment didn't make any sense. But more simply, it just wasn't as much fun.

Again, and again the same thing. Unnecessary more one sequel of the Ducks.
