I'm sure I was being presented with a fairly conventional narrative, but for the life of me I could not figure out what the heck was going on the whole time. There's some memorable action (the final fight is classic) and maybe one good song. Unfortunately the comedy and general presentation couldn't keep up with the enjoyable absurdity of the violence.

ProtagonistMan is totally cool and awesome you guys, really. The fact that he brutalizes, kills, treats his love interest like a piece of luggage and needs to channel the power of Loving Your Mommy in the final battle (causing him to hulk out) is totally charming and heroic, honest. This nonsense is can't-help-but-laugh amusing when it focuses on the ridiculous 'written by a 12 year old'-level action. The terrible love shit, boring family drama and lame moralizing really drag it down though.

Dabangg (fearless), thats what one needs to be in imagination to really understand this movie. This movie is probably one of the better movies of Salman Khan in a while. A movie where his acting is not required (he cant act). The movie is incoherent and one needs to watch it with no expectations. Sonu Sood delivers another good performance. The movie would have been better with a good script, this movie is as good as it can be. Watch it if you want to be entertained.

This movie is pretty amazing, classic Bollywood with lots of fun songs that come in when you least expect. Very lighthearted and pretty. Salman Khan does quite well but the performances of most of the other minor characters leaves a bit to be desired. But, c'mon, it's all about Khan.
