Intresting Belgian movie, a real drama at 1888 : poverty, bad working conditions, child labor. Worth-seeing !

Aside from some ham-fisted stabs at pathos throughout the film, this is a layered, solidly performed Belgian period piece backed up by some skillful art direction, makeup and costumes.
