Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan

Well-wrought and intense war film may not hit any new beats that haven't been covered before (in PLATOON, APOCALYOSE NOW etc.) but distinguishes itself with its fresh Aussie perspective and an array of excellent, underplayed performances; Fimmel is a minor revelation as the alpha Major, though Webber and Hamilton are nearly as good, cutting through the essential archetypal nature of their characters.

The Vietnam era jungle fighting in this movie is intense. It had some character-building but centers mostly on the gun battles and some of the behind the lines military command. Performances were mostly good. If you are in the mood for some war action, this is a good choice.
