Daphne & Velma

I had this on my remembered list for awhile and apparently I didn't mind it, though it was quite juvenile. I'll have to rewatch later now that I've watched a lot more Scooby-Doo.

Surprisingly fun and full of throwbacks and callouts. The radically un-toxic masculinity of the football bros was a delightfully welcome touch.

I walked into it knowing the target audience would be a lot younger than I. But I did hope it would be more in line with the recent Scooby-Doo movies, which were no masterpieces themselves. Yet the latter were entertaining, this... wasn't. And it didn't strike a chord with my daughters (5-12) either. Pass.

That was... not atrocious. Definitely a step above all of the similarly styled cringey live-action Disney channel shows about teenagers.

not so good

No prediction from Criticker this time. Not enough info...but you know, I thought the movie was fine. I really dug the music, but HERE'S THE PROBLEM: These girls solve a crime Mystery Inc would have normally solved as a team, effectively spitting on the guys in the gang. It should have been a different TYPE of mystery. Like investigating the mystery of the talking dog that turned out to be Scooby-Doo...why couldn't they do THAT?

Just awful.
