Jack Caine (Dolph Lundgren) is a Houston vice cop who's forgotten the rule book. His self-appointed mission is to stop the drugs trade and the number one supplier Victor Manning. Whilst involved in an undercover operation to entrap Victor Manning, his partner gets killed, and a sinister newcomer enters the scene... Along with F.B.I. agent Lawrence Smith, the two investigate a spate of mysterious deaths; normal non-junkies dying of massive heroin overdoses and bearing the same horrific puncture marks on the forehead. It's rare that Lundgren says more than four words at a time; though, to his credit, he does a decent job of acting. Meanwhile, the movie is nonsense to a point of being entertaining unintentionally--the best kind of entertaining. Explosions, aliens, and overt racism are prevalent. Time well spent, but don't go in expecting CASABLANCA, although this is the CITIZEN KANE of alien buddy cop movies.

Dolph Lundgren is surprisingly entertaining in this delightfully cheesy genre mash-up. One part early 90's buddy-cop comedy, one part over-the-top action/thriller, and one part sci-fi/alien/crime B-movie makes for a relatively good time, as stunt-actor/stunt-coordinator turned director, Craig R. Baxley, made sure to add plenty of stunts and explosions to sooth over the movie's clichéd and wonky story. Not to mention the novelty of college basketball analyst Jay Bilias playing an alien DEA agent

It's part terminator, part buddy cop with a dose of Lundgrenergy! Unfortunately, it's not as good as it sounds.

Dolph Lundgren teaches us to just say no to Christopher Lambert. What else I learned from this movie: CDs are the deadliest of music mediums.

Nonsensical Christopher Lambert-looking alien arrives and starts killing in the name of some drug derived from human tissue. Lundgren and his annoying FBI partner try to stop him. A full-on retarded movie that makes no sense at all ensues. And there was much rejoicing. "Fuck you, spaceman!"

Dolph is a renegade cop who plays by his own rules. The undercover job goes wrong and his partner is killed. After getting shouted at by the angry captain, Dolph gets a new partner - annoying by-the-book-type FBI agent. So yes, essentially, Dark Angel is a cheesy 80's buddy cop movie full of cliches. But that's the kind of cliches I love. Add Lord Rayden looking drug dealer from outer space to the mix, and you got yourself an evening of entertainment! It doesn't live up to its potential, though.

I Come in Peace is the appropriate title, almost too much radness in this film to handle. You may need a few hours afterward to allow your throbbing erection to obtain normalcy.

This ticks every box on the cliché checklist but in the best way possible. It's like if The Hidden embraced its B-movie leanings all the more and threw in a twist of Predator. It's got buddy-cop banter for days, more bullets than you've got brain cells and more explosions than you can count on your hands and toes.

Forgiving the endless lapses in logic [you really can't begin to enjoy anything without first applying this step], this is one hell of a fun, cheesy time.

"Dark Angel" doesn't reinvent its genre and won't change your life, but it's a perfectly serviceable hour-and-a-half that remains engaging throughout thanks to the strong action, the really good performances and great chemistry of Dolph Lundgren and Brian Benben and the buddy cop vibes, which, much like the occasional doses of humour, are fun without being overbearing. Also on the plus side, the reveal, though far from mind-blowing, isn't well-worn, thus making the film a little more refreshing.

This is a thoroughly enjoyable action film, obviously patterned somewhat after "Terminator," in which an alien descends to Houston, Texas, to steal heroin and kill people. Lundgren as always delivers what is for an action film about the right level of emotion with a personable character, and the action scenes are brief but intense. The plot follows the post Steven King horror movie scenario with a few twists and delivers a gratifying ending.

Renegade cop Jack Caine (Dolph Lundgren) is intent on snuffing out a dangerous gang of drug traffickers known as the "White Boys." When the gang makes off with a cache of heroin from federal custody and destroys the building to conceal evidence of their crime, Caine investigates with straight-arrow FBI agent Arwood Smith (Brian Benben). But bizarre new clues reveal that the Boys' criminal enterprise extends much further than anyone had previously imagined.

The subtext is more interesting than initial glance lets on. Touches on the "war on drugs" and how it creates an infinitely more dangerous black market, and funnily enough, colonialism. Works on both levels, it's a shitload of action fun but it's also somewhat thoughtful.

I prefer the title "I Come In Peace" but regardless I've always found this to be a fun ass movie. Dolph and Brian have great chemistry and Matthias seems to be having a blast.

I think this is the last gasp of the 1980s action movie. It's pretty solid for your bad action/sci-fi needs.

This movie is hilarious, goofy, and oddly entertaining in different ways, some of them quite bad, others surprisingly good. Had the movie dumped the subplots it could have been much better.

This 90’s action/scifi spectacle which is probably one of the biggest films that Dolph Lundgren got to star in during his peak years. Too generic to rise above its peers, but it’s still brainless fun with some Christmas season flavour.
