A kind of Don’t Look Now if Venice were, instead, Vermont. There’s some true editing prowess here - a few scenes, (a notable one, in a single take!) before you know it, heat from a simmer to a rolling boil. Someone on set knew about the occult and it adds an extra layer of authenticity that satisfies even when the climax doesn’t immediately seem to.

They get a fair bit of mileage out of no money I'm sure. It's all 70s psychobabble and cheesy sfx. I felt cheated still.

Solid and very eerie horror movie. Vermont appears to be both gorgeous and unsettling all at the same time. I dig the whole folk horror in the woods thing.

This is a solid regional horror slow-burn which makes great use of Vermont's nature. It's character-driven and probably too slow moving for many, but fans of this kind of thing should have a great time. Cinematography was great and sound design and score worked really well. Actors did a solid job, and it was a surprise that this was seemingly the only credit for many of them. It's also a pity Goldman hasn't directed more. Nice way to start Arrow's American Horror Project #2 boxset.
